It's alright. - It would just be useful to have the context.

What type of game? (Survival, resource-management, linear story, etc.)
Endless gameplay or a set story?
From what perspective? (First-person, third-person, single person, multiple people, specific characters, etc.)
Linear or branching story? - Mandatory or optional dialogue?

What kind of apocalypse? - War? Scientific? Mythological?
What is the situation of people?
How do they live? What do they have left?
What state-of-mind are the people in and what is their conflict?

From that basis, a story could form. - Good luck!

Well, that is a very general idea.
I mean, a lot of follow-up questions would have to be asked for context.

But first of all: Is this for a game you’re making or intend to make?

As for the idea: Sure, it has potential, but my mind immediately jumps to games like ‘Fallout: Shelter’ and ‘This War of Mine’.
But it all depends on the overall game as to what can and needs to be written for it.

If you want to pitch me a project with more details, you can also contact me directly.

If you have a game with nothing more but a concept or idea for a story, I can (help) write one.
Whether it's pages of rough story and dialogue or just a list of ideas, something could be made of that.

If you already have an as good as finished story or just dialogue for a game, but need it to be checked or improved, I can help iron things out as well.
Whether it's merely checking for problems or as much as rephrasing or restructuring, I could help with suggestions.

Maybe you want to start from scratch and have a co-writer while you can still focus on the game itself enough.
Pitch me your idea and we'll see if we can get something going.

It doesn't really matter what kind of game it is, but I suppose I lean towards plots with mystery, drama, horror, psychology, (dark) humor, adventure, and so on.
It can be multi-layered and clever, or simple and to-the-point. It can be grounded and visceral, but it could also be lighthearted and fun.

Notes

I'd prefer smaller projects for now, but I won't shy away from a bigger project that's interesting.

I'm also available to translate your text into Dutch in case you're localizing your game.

And I'm also available for music (see my other page), which often goes hand in hand with story, but of course makes for more work to do at once.

Compensation depends on the size of the project, but I'm also willing to work for credit alone on smaller non-monetized projects.

I'm based in The Netherlands, but my times can vary and I can adapt. Natuurlijk is Nederlands dan ook een optie.

If you have any questions, requests, or want to make a proposition, just let me know and we can discuss it.

I'm looking to make soundtracks and/or soundscapes/effects for videogames that are based on horror, adventure, action, or retro-inspired games, though not exclusively.

I like using synthesizers to come up with unique sounds, whether it's mystical or scary, while I can also use more organic sounds, such as piano and percussion, to set different emotional moods.
It doesn't really matter what the game is, as long as there is a clear theme and something to get inspired by, it could work out.
The size of project doesn't really matter either, though for now preferably smaller, while I'm open to bigger challenges.

While the guitar is my main instrument, I mostly like to compose on the keys, which allows for many sounds and styles.
I'm rooted in Rock 'n' Roll, but I'm versed in a wide range of music, from Classical to Metal, from Folk to Electronic, and almost everything in between.
A similar case goes for my musical inspiration, which comes from many things, not only band-music, but also many soundtracks from movies, shows, musicals, videogames, and so on.
I tend to lean towards the unusual and uncommon, so I tend to come up with unique ideas.

On a side-note, I'm also competent in audio-mixing/mastering, as I care about quality from the first note to the final render.
You could even recruit me to do audio-mixing/mastering only, especially for music, but even just effects and/or dialogue.

I won't work on just any project, but if I see potential in it and it inspires me, a collaboration is more likely.
While I have very particular views, I'm open and flexible to work with, yet I work very precisely and try to make sense of everything.

Compensation depends on the size of the project, of course, but I'm also willing to work for credit alone on smaller non-monetized projects.

Hope to hear from someone with an interesting project soon!

Hi. - I've had some busy days, but I've done some sessions for ideas. - Just letting you know, I've added you on Discord earlier, if you're still interested.

Alright! - I'll get in contact there soon.

I've already conjured up some things...

Well, create I will anyway. - Whether or not it's great, who knows! :)

But I was wondering if you wanted to collaborate on a more extensive soundtrack for your game.
If it's not what you're looking for right now, that's fine too.

Hello there.

I'd watched your game in a video and thought it was pretty good. But I couldn't help think there could be a bit more to the soundtrack.

Obviously an understated tune for a game like this is fine, but something more like variation, progression, perhaps even a theme, could add a lot.

I feel like I could get inspired and make something for it. Would you be interested in that?

Heyy, thanks very much! - You know, it reminded me of "For the Damaged Coda". This Chopin guy ripped off Blonde Redhead!

Hi Andries. I saw Markiplier play this and I was wondering if you could let me know the classical music in... the beginning I think it was?
